The Swim – 400m
The swim will be 16 x 25m lengths of the swimming pool. You may swim any style of either front crawl or breaststroke, for safety reasons you will not be allowed to swim back stroke or butterfly at the event.
You will be assigned a lane and start time, you are required to be pool side at least 15 minutes before your allocated start time. As the event is being timed by electronic timing chip it is essential that you are ready to start at your assigned time.
Swimming hats will be provided and goggles are optional but strongly recommended, nose clips may be worn as required but no other swimming aids such as fins or mits will be permitted.
You should swim in a regular swimming costume / trunks or tri suit / tri shorts. Wetsuits are not permitted.
There will be a table close to the swim exit which can be used for storing your glasses / inhalers as required. No drinks bottles or towels are to be left at this table.
Swim lap counters will be in attendance on the pool side but it is your reponsibility to count your own lengths.
The Bike – 20Km
The bike section of the race will be a single 20Km out and back loop and will take place on the open highways and therefore all cyclists must obey the highway code. The route will be marshalled and signposted.
Marshals will be placed at route junctions and roundabouts to advise on road and traffic conditions, you should be aware that marshals do not have authority to stop traffic and your safety is your own responsibility. Always slow at junctions to check for hazards and obey any instructions given by marshals and police officers.
You may ride any type of bicycle for the event as long as it is safe, has working brakes, free wheels and the bar ends are plugged! Please see the BTF rules available on the 3xtri website for further safety information.
Helmets must be worn at all times and must be safe and servicable! Helmets and bikes will be checked for safety before being allowed to enter transition.
You must wear your race number on your back during the bike section of the race
Please carry all empty water bottles and gel / bar wrappers back to transition, do NOT litter!
Event Map

The Run - 1 lap
The run will be a one lap 5 kilometre loop on riverside tracks running on the right hand side of the river before crossing the bridge at the far end and then returning on the opposite river bank.

You must wear your race number on your front during the run section of the race.
